“Legal Challenges of New Technologies“
What are the most important legal challenges related to new technologies (including AI) on the basis of the existing case law of the Court of Justice? How these experiences make us re-examine established legal concepts? The lecture will focus on issues such as the principle of territoriality, the protection of personal data, the role of the Internet platform, and liability for infringements committed via the internet.

Prof. W. Bentley MacLeod (Yale University, Columbia University) – former president of the American Law and Economics Association, whose research focuses on labour economics, with particular emphasis on organisational economics.
“Law and Economics in the Age of Computers – What Are the Implications of Computational Complexity of Law and Economics?“
The purpose of the talk is to discuss the role of economic models in law and and economics. Models provide useful decision aids that not only explain some features of observed laws, but also provide a framework for creating new law. This lecture discusses different types of economic models, and how the AI challenge requires new models, and an explicit discussion of the role of values for judicial decisions.
